What is Qubiton

Logo, business card, website illustrations, social media post, web banners

The challenge:
To make cohesive visuals for a data scientist, including a company logo, business card, and illustrations for articles.
The design must be simple and minimalistic, be associated with science, IT and technology, and quantum computers. 

The brief:
Qubiton is a website about quantum computers. The client wanted illustrations to help explain formulas, make some of the
 intimidating text easier to understand, and to add visual appeal. The goal was to engage the reader, so the illustrations are playful.

Logo

The logo consists of two words “qubit” (in quantum computers, the basic unit of information is qubit. Qubit short for quantum bit),
and “on” which implies that you turn something on, like a computer. In this case a quantum computer that is powered by qubits. 

The Q is customised to look like an “on” button. The Q had to be a perfect circle, so to make the rest of the letters I used
the Futura typeface which uses a perfect circle for an "o". It is modern and geometric, so it suits the IT sector well.
The quantum computer can partially be made from gold, so I used the color in the logo. 

Colors

I wondered what colors would be the best and thoughT about a dark background. Black or dark background is used in
coding and in IT/tech professions so it is less tiring for the eyes. Those people need to spend many hours during the
day in front of their desktops, that is why it is important to make their work more comfortable. It is also easier to focus.
I wanted to copy the idea here, so I used dark grey background with bright yellow logo and typography.  

The audience

The audience is a small group of people that are interested in quantum computers, and skews toward men,
who are more involved and interested in the IT/tech industries.

The website is written only in Polish so far and naturally, the geography of the audience is in Poland,
or Polish-speaking people. 

The client published his thesis, part by part, as a way to share his interests with others. This is something new in
Poland, and there is not much being studied about it, so Qubiton is sharing these complex topics in polish to educate those
who are interested.
